Two 70- to 90-year-old concrete lined raw water tunnels have experienced much distress and cracking over their extended life, re-lining the tunnels was necessary to continue their service and complete other repairs. An “In wet repair” approach was utilized with custom stainless-steel liners that would be assembled by divers at the invert of the tunnel and transported over 700 feet down the tunnel for installation by a transporter vehicle, integrating an electric over hydraulic power system, operated by two divers.
