With the presidential and congressional elections of 2024 in the rearview, our eyes turn to 2025. Has the Federal Reserve engineered a soft landing, or is stagflation on the way? Can America continue to pace the advanced world, or will expanding indebtedness, policy uncertainty, and over-extended asset values prove our collective undoing? This presentation focuses on US and regional economic performance with an eye toward discussing emerging risks to what has thus far been an economy that has surprised to the upside.

Panel Discussions
Panel Discussion on Advancements in the Deep Foundation Industry over the last 50 Years
DFI’s past presidents will present a thought-provoking panel discussion exploring the evolution of the deep foundations industry over the past 50 years. They will share insights on innovations, improvements in technology and practice, and the enduring methods that continue to shape the field. The discussion will also revisit significant milestones, industry challenges, and lessons learned, offering a unique perspective from leaders who have helped guide DFI through decades of progress.

Foundation Adaptation for Life Cycle Extension: An Interactive Panel Discussion
Reuse of foundations is a well-established practice, but one that is still underutilized, and under-valued, across building and infrastructure markets. DFI's Foundation Reuse Task Force is working to develop a guide specification for foundation reuse that addresses the process for evaluating and testing existing foundations and designing for their re-incorporation into new structures. This panel session will be an interactive event in which we will present and gather feedback on the draft guide specification, and explore what the industry needs to ultimately increase prevalence of foundation reuse.

Panel Discussion on the Importance of Collaborative Project Delivery – Looking Back While Looking Forward
The Deep Foundations Institute's (DFI) mission continues to bring together people and organizations from varied disciplines to create a shared vision and consensus for the deep foundations industry. Looking back over the past 50 years since the founding of DFI, the geo-industry has often had to navigate difficult questions, such as if traditional construction procurement method(s) satisfy what we need as individual members of the DFI. Procurement method(s) have evolved to meet an ever-changing need and have included bringing in contractors early in the procurement process to provide input/benefit/shared solution(s). What are the opportunities for DFI members to be involved with this process?

Professional Development Hours (PDHs)
An increasing number of professional engineering licensing organizations require members to pursue professional development on a formal basis. DFI is pleased to provide a general Certificate of Participation for all its technical programs. This certificate is accepted by most licensing boards and serves as documentation of your pursuit of continuing education credits.
There are some states that may not accept the general DFI certificate. Attendees are responsible for determining whether the PDHs offered by DFI are accepted by their respective licensing board.
The number of general PDHs for this conference will be announced soon.
